When are you going to put out another cd? We saw you play 2 years ago at the White Eagle in Portland, and loved your music. You are a wonderful musician with some much talent. If you ever want to come play on the coast, there is a great brewpub in Astoria, Oregon and I totally could hook up with with a gig. They would love you have you!! And so would I!! Keep up the great work. Email and let me know if you would be interesting in doing that.

Jesse Hobson is also my ancestor. I am related through the Covington/Carling line. It's good to find relatives online. I've spent a lot of time learning about the Dougherties, but would love to know more about the Hobsons as well.

Beautiful voice, lyrics, and pickin'. My son also loves and plays the old Son House, Robert Johnson and early Dylan music as well as writing his own. You reminded me of him so much I had to buy your CD--don't get me wrong. I love your music, too.

And then I heard you play.

I saw JD at a community center on Saturday, March 17. It was a terrific show. At the show I bought his CD which I recommend highly.
I would add that the first 25 seconds or so of the first cut, "Illinois Blues", is distorted, whether thru design or malfunction I do not know. But be prepared for that.

All of the cuts are good but I would single out (for my taste) the third cut, "Wealth Won't Save Your Soul", a cover of a Hank Williams song. It is a beautiful song, period, and JD sings it perfectly, with a somewhat gravely voice backed by very smooth guitar work. Just a great song, with the right video and marketing to back it I could see it as a hit single.

It's all good - check it out. JD is a talented and hard working artist.
